A Lioness’ Journey from Hell to Self -- Show Reca
A Lioness' Journey from Hell to Self — Recap
May 23, 2026 | Sesh Collective | Houston, TX
I'm still riding the buzz.
On May 23, 2026, A Lioness' Journey from Hell to Self opened at Sesh Collective in Houston and for the first time, the full arc of a decade of practice existed in a single room. Three acts, three bodies of work, one complete story moving from war through healing into ritual. Seeing it all together was worth everything it took to get there, even before a single person walked through the door.
But people walked through the door. Over 80 of them, in the rain. Friends from every era and corner of my life, collectors, and a good handful of strangers who found their way in and stayed. People made the drive from San Antonio, North Dallas, and Fort Hood to be there.
What I keep coming back to is what people told me throughout the night. That the work moved them on a deep level. That they felt it. One attendee said they were still processing the interconnectedness of ten years of work. Another said the show flowed exactly to what was next. As an artist, to have people feel the work is the greatest honor I know, and that night, it happened.
Works sold across every level of the collection, from functional ceramic pieces to mid-tier sculpture to a high-end original, and my first dropship prints were ordered. The full range, in one evening.
The artist talk is below, alongside footage from the night by Victor Beltran. Watch it, walk through it, and see what ten years of work looks like when it finally gets to stand together.
This was the debut. It will not be the last showing.
A Lioness' Journey from Hell to Self is available for institutional booking as a traveling exhibition. Inquiries welcome at leniecastonmiller@gmail.com.
